Tyon X Kurobear + Tutorial

Hi everyone, I have a new picture to show and guess what? A quick tutorial!!

Now let's see how I enchanced my art :3

1. Start with a linart.

2. Do rough values

3. Clean and complete values. Now you see what it will look like when it is done.

4. Have it colored

5. Check and fix the values of colors

6. Paint and clean the details.

7. Time to have your picture completed. It means to empower your picture with effects such as glowing light from bright area or rich colors on the hat.

I hope this tutorial can help you or at least to guide you. Thank you

  1. Great tutorial! I saw a few tutorial before and they also used black and white to do the shadow and highlight first. But I don't know where and how to do that in Photoshop. And once it's done, do you repaint it with color or just overlay one color on one part (let's say the tigar's body). Sorry about my bad english. Can you explain that abit? thank you in advance!

    3. step 4. like what is the purpose of step 3 (black and white) before coloring the picture in step 4 when you have the shadow and light in the mind already?

    4. The purpose of step 3 is to make sure the final picture will have the same values as step 3. And step 4 is the first step of coloring. Value is very important part of illustration. To make your picture reasonable and real, you have to pay close attention to value.
